And so, all night long, the barbarians went rowing to and fro, guarding the straits and the escape routes, while the Greeks were resting, preparing themselves for fight. And when day broke the Persians advanced into the straits, in the belief that they were [in Greek: "are"] about to defeat the Greeks easily, when all of a sudden they heard an enormous shout so that they were very much afraid. For the Greeks were advancing into battle in an orderly fashion [in Greek: using order] and while sailing against the Persians kept shouting their battle song.
