Plot 1a

Not much of a plot yet. Just a little introduction:
We meet our first protagonist (πρωταγωνιστής, he who plays the first part) called Dikaiopolis. We're told what he is, where he lives, what he does for a living. We learn what he thinks of his work and his life.
Why is he basically content with his lot?
How does he say: "Oh god!"
When does he say it?

This, just to give you an idea of what words to expect in this very first lesson.

You'll certainly need the following. Practice saying them, thinking all the while what reality they stand of. For πονεῖ think of someone actually working, for ὁ οἶκος think of a real house, etc.:

πονεῖ, he works, or: is working, or even: he does work
ὁ πόνος, work; toil
ὁ βίος, life
οἰκεῖ, he lives, dwells, or: is living, dwelling
ὁ οἶκος, the house
χαίρει, he is pleased, rejoices, is rejoicing, (really) does rejoice
λέγει, he says
ὦ Ζεῦ, O Zeus!
