Use The Words

Think of something in real life you find beautiful and call it   καλός
something "long" and call it  μακρός  and so on.
Run through all the words that way till they're really familiar. Words in any foreign language are finally just that, other ways of labelling the same concepts, objects, ideas, realities.
It is not only: κλῆρος = farm,  farm =  κλῆρος
It is:  κλῆρος and farm both mean: that thing in the country where animals are reared and corn is grown. They are just different labels put on the same reality.
You learnt one, no reason why you shouldn't be able to learn the other. Provided you really want to and accept the fact that different people use different sounds and combinations of letters for expressing the same ideas. That's what makes life interesting, variety.
You'll see, words are much easier to remember if you attach them to concrete realities and real life situations rather than to abstract translations.
