Comprehension exercise

This is how you do this exercise:
 
You read each sentence in turn and imagine the scene. Some make sense, some should make you smile. You've got to see everything with your mind's eye. If you read:
φεῦ τοῦ ποδός
you should recall somebody hurting their foot and complaining about it.
ἅμα ἕλκουσιν οἱ βόες
it is the oxen that are doing the pulling together whereas:
ἅμα ἕλκουσι τοὺς βοῦς
means people are pulling together trying to move those oxen that refuse to budge.
Visualization puts meaning into words and structures.
  1. ὁ Ξανθίας λέγει· φεῦ τοῦ ποδός.
  2. ὁ Δικαιόπολις αἴρει τὸν λίθον .
  3. ἅμα φέρουσι τὸν λίθον πρὸς τὸν ἀγρόν.
  4. οἱ βόες ἕλκουσι τὸ ἄροτρον ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ.
  5. ὀ δοῦλος λέγει· δυνατόν ἐστιν αἴρειν αὐτόν.
  6. ὁ λίθος χαλεπός ἐστιν.
  7. καί ὁ δεσπότης χαλεπός ἐστιν.
  8. οἱ βόες ἀργοί (ῥᾴθυμοι) εἰσιν.
  9. ὁ δοῦλος ἐμποδίζει τὸν λίθον. possible, e.g. on a slope, stone rolling down being stopped
  10. οἱ βόες πταίουσιν.
  11. ὁ Δικαιόπολις σκαιός ἐστιν.
  12. ὁ δεσπότης καταβάλλει τὸν λίθον.
  13. ἅμα ἕλκουσι τὸ ἄροτρον.
  14. ἅμα καταβάλλουσι τὸν λίθον.
  15. αὔθις πονοῦσιν ἐν τῷ ἁγρῷ.
  16. μόλις αἴρουσι τὸ ἄροτρον.
  17. τέλος δὲ καταδύνει ὁ ἥλιος. (Ouff!)
