How to tackle these lessons
  • Look at the picture
  • Think about the plot
  • Look at the words, the English ones, think what they stand for, where you might use them. Of course this is not an exercise in English, but intended to get you mentally prepared. If we know our adversary, it's much easier to overcome him.
  • Then, if you feel like it, read the translation of the text. What you want out of the lessons is not to decipher, painstakingly and painfully, a hieroglyphic text, but acquire new, usable basic material that will allow you - in a not too distant future - to tackle Greek texts confidently.
