Remember your pen and paper!

Jot down new words and don't forget to visualize whatever it is they stand for: night, a sword, shrieking in the dark, fighting....

Each time you write down a new word, re-live the preceding ones, but don't try more than 5 to 7 at one sitting. Then go and wash your hands, have a drink, tell the dog to stop barking or do something else equally refreshing. But don't come back for more till you've recharged your concentration-batteries.

Vary your activities, so as not to get into a rut.

And whatever you do, use your imagination, your memories (not only that memory you say you haven't got any of. Oh dear, this sounds like I'd better go and give my style a little rest).
