Greek Alphabetical Order

In itself the correct order of letters is not important, but....
When you start looking up words in a dictionary it becomes rather tedious having to hunt around for words beginning with
  φ;  ζ;  ψ  etc.

That's why alphabetical order is not a bad thing: Because it is really useful. Nor is it very difficult to remember.

α β γ δ ε ζ η θ ι κ λ μ ν ξ ο
π ρ σ τ υ φ χ ψ ω

In other words:
Greek γ replaces our letter "c".
Our letter "f" disappears and is replaced by Greek ζ η θ in that order.
Our letters "h and j" disappear.
There is a ξ inserted between "n and o".
Greek φ replaces our "v and w".
Greek letter χ replaces our "x", and
Greek letter ψ replaces our "y", also on the keyboard.
And everybody knows that ω is the last letter of the Greek alphabet.
