What used to be?

Note: For once I've used macrons, to show that the alpha is long. Don't confuse this macron with a circumflex:
both tell us the sound is supposed to be long, but the macron indicates just that, whereas the circumflex tells us that the syllable is stressed (or pitched).

1. ἐν ταῖς Ἀθήναις ᾤκουν.
2. ἐγὼ παίζειν ἐφίλουν, ἡμεῖς πάντες ἐφιλοῦμεν.
3. ἐπεί δὲ ἐπαίζομεν ἐγὼ ἐνίκων, διότι ἡ ἀδελφὴ μικρὰ ἦν.
4. διὰ τί ἔτρεχες; διὰ τί ἐκάλεις; διὰ τί ἐβόᾱς;
5. ὁ Φίλιππος ἠθύμει· οὐχ ἑώρᾱ τὸν κύνα.
      μέγα ἐβόᾱ ἀλλὰ ὁ κύων ἔτι ἐδίωκε λαγώς.
6. ἆρα ἐτιμᾶτε τὴν Δημήτερα καὶ ἐκαλεῖτε αὐτήν;
