Middle/Passive Voice

[δουλό-εσθαι] δουλοῦσθαι, to be enslaved

Who
  is made a slave
 I  δουλ   οῦμαι
 do you?   ἆρα   δουλ  οῖ
   he/she/it    δουλ  οῦ ται
 we  δουλ  ού μεθα
do you?  ἆρα   δουλ  οῦ σθε
 they  δουλ  οῦ νται

Here the uncontracted forms:
Note that, wherever the stem -ο has an acute in the uncontracted form it will have a circumflex in the contracted form.
Only the we-form, being acutely pitched on the antepenult will keep its acute accent in the contracted form as well. Long or short, the antepenult can never be circumflexed.

  [δουλ-ομαι]
[δουλ-ει|ῃ]
[δουλ-εται]
[δουλο-μεθα]
[δουλ-εσθε]
[δουλ-ονται]

Another contract verb in -ο we've had is:
to be freed - [ἐλευθερ-εσθαι] ἐλευθεροῦσθαι
Your turn now to practice filling in a jumbled-up BE FREED table

 Who?   uncontracted forms     contracted forms
 he, she or it
you all
 you my friend
I
they
we
Which rules of contraction are applied?

Practice these forms of δουλοῦσθαι and ἐλευθεροῦσθαι in a meaningful way, i.e. use the right half of your brain (pictures, sounds, smells, feelings):

Who or what is enslaved? where? when? why?
What or who is made free? not freed? Who or what else is enslaved and not set free?
