A bit of general chit-chat

 Hi! χαῖρε
 How are you?  πῶς ἔχεις;
 I'm fine  καλῶς ἔχω
   and you?     καὶ σύ;
 I am in a bad mood (angry)  ὀργίλως ἔχω
 Why?  διὰ τί;
   Are you drunk?     ἆρ' μεθύεις;
 No, but Greek is impossible to learn  οὐχί, ἀλλ' ἀδύνατόν ἐστι μαθεῖν
   τὴν ἑλληνικὴν φωνήν
 Don't talk nonsense,  μὴ φλυάρει,
   it isn't impossible     οὐκ ἀδύνατόν ἐστιν.
   Go on! Cheer up!     ἄγε δή. θάρρει
   Don't loose heart!     μὴ ἀθύμει
 Go away [with your wise words] ἄπιθι
 Bye!  χαῖρε

Thanking people for good advice (or services rendered)

 Thank you  εὐχαριστῶ or, in the plural:
εὐχαριστοῦμεν

You might know Eucharist from Christian church, the sacrement commemorating the last Supper and the consacration of bread and wine. Which lead to people saying grace: to give thanks to god for what they're about to eat (or have just finished eating).

ἡ εὐχαριστία, gratitude, thanks in general
εὐχάριστος, ον, grateful, thankful:
   εὐχάριστοί ἐσμεν, we are grateful (men or women, same form)
[εὐχαριστέω] εὐχαριστῶ, I thank
